We are an American applied science consulting firm with in-depth experience and expertise in providing services to the aerospace, defense, electric power and chemical industries.

ASCA, Inc. is at the forefront of research and applications of decision support, control systems design validation, risk assessment, and risk management. Our experiences include supporting NASA in deep space missions, developing tools for model-based systems engineering design assurance and decision support. ASCA has built a reputation in Probabilistic Risk Assessment (PRA) and risk management applications, as well as control systems design validation tools for aviation and aerospace, nuclear power systems, and software safety. ASCA also maintains long-standing information and professional exchange relations with several academic and Federal research institutions that are active in the risk assessment field.

ASCA’s R&D capabilities have been demonstrated by the advancements that it has introduced over the years in the areas of multi-valued logic modeling and analysis for reliability and safety applications, as well as for control systems design assurance. Many of these advancements have been incorporated into software tools that have supported application work for the customers mentioned above. Our customer base is a clear indication of the breadth of our experience. In its field of research and development ASCA has also won highly competitive awards, such as Phase I and II Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) awards from NASA, the Department of Energy, the Department of Transportation Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. To keep at the forefront of the research related to its core competency, ASCA also has maintained and continues to maintain long-standing information and professional exchange relations with academic research institutions of national prominence such as the Ohio State University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and the University of Southern California.

September 2020 Newsletter

ASCA is now halfway through its two-year SBIR project. The team is working with NASA on deploying our safety methodology in future autonomous space systems. We are now looking for a partner so we can demonstrate how to use our software for safety analysis of autonomous cars.
